Parents and citizens

The P&C is an official legislated forum for parents, teachers and Citizens to come together in the interest of our students. We support the school by fundraising for School resources and promote the interests and welfare of the School Students.

Meetings

Meetings are held Week 3 and Week 8 each term. We meet on a Wednesday at 7pm in the School staffroom.  Agenda items can be emailed to jamberoosecretary@gmail.com . The agenda will be placed in the School newsletter week 2 and week 7 each term. After each meeting, draft minutes will be available for financial members via email. Minutes from previous meetings will be available on the school website www.jamberoo-p.schools.nsw.edu.au under P&C.

How do I become a member?

All Parents and Carers of Students enrolled at the School may attend a P&C meeting. To become a financial member, please see the Treasurer prior to the meeting. The Treasurer will place your name in our register once payment of $1.00 is received. This will give you voting rights at the following meeting onwards. Membership will cease at the close of the following Annual General Meeting.

What does the P&C do?

  1. Fosters closer ties with our community and promotes the School within our community. This is achieved through cooperation between parents, students, teacher and members of the general community.
  2. Assists with the provision of resources, facilities and equipment through fundraising.
  3. Works with the school on activities within the school including policy and management plan development by encouraging parent participation and sharing of information and views.
  4. Promotes student welfare and positive relationships between the school and families.
  5. Maintains clear lines of communication between Parents, the School and community.

How do I take up a leadership Position?

The P&C Executive Committee consists of the President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer. These positions become vacant prior to the Annual General Meeting which is held in Week 3, Term 1. At the AGM any member may stand for an Executive Committee position.  Our web page has links to the P&C Federation for more information on each position.
